<div>Hello, my name is Alaia Waters. My family and I have lost our home in the Eaton Fire in Altadena. The home my grandparents have been in for 50+ years.

<div>On January 8th, 2025 around 4AM our Altadena home was burned down by the Eaton Canyon Fire. The home I grew up in, and returned back to as an adult. My grandmother and I left with just a suitcase. My grandfather left with nothing but the clothes on his back and the dogs. The loss of this is devastating and heartbreaking. We’ve loss almost everything.

<div>My grandma and grandfather are in their 70s. Both retired. My grandmother is currently in remission from breast cancer as well. My grandfather is a military service veteran. He was a marine that served in Vietnam and now has retired from his family business. Me, the granddaughter works for SPUSD as a teacher’s assistant.
