Funeral of Akhila Gallage - UK

Hi,

I am Amila Pathum, and have launched this page to support Akhila's family with UK funeral costs.

As you know by now, our dear friend passed away in a tragic accident last Thursday night (11th August), in Surrey, England. One minute he was saying goodbye to his young family, and the next he was gone forever. We are all heartbroken.

Akhila has always held a special place in the hearts of those who knew him. From his school days in Nittambuwa, Sri Lanka through his time at Sheffield Hallam University, UK his friends and colleagues have always known him as unassuming, intelligent, kind and determined. His professional colleagues have described these same qualities to us, where he was in the early stages of a promising engineering career.

The family and friends greatly appreciates the outpouring of support in the UK and at home in Sri Lanka. It is an incredibly difficult time for them, but there is some small solace that others recognised the gentleman they always knew. His wife Dishani, daughter Onelli who is only 3 years old, parents Bandula & Sandya Gallage, sister Chathuri, and brother in law Fabian, uncles, aunts, cousins and all his friends are inconsolable. We are grateful for any small support that you can provide for the funeral in the UK.
