<div>My name is Tarek Ajjour, hailing from Halifax, Nova Scotia. I have created this GoFundMe page to aid my cousin, Ahmed Ajoor, who is currently in Rafah City, Gaza. The funds raised will directly support Ahmed in reconstructing his life and preparing for the future of his family once he is able to return to Gaza City from Rafah. Below is Ahmed's heartfelt account of his circumstances.

<div>I am Ahmed Ajoor, a 30-year-old from Gaza, Palestine. Until October 7th, 2023, I pursued a dual career as a newly practicing lawyer and a professional footballer, in addition to being a devoted husband and father to my wonderful three-year-old son, Yazan.

<div>On that fateful day, my family and I faced the devastating choice to leave our home in Gaza City to safeguard our lives. We sought refuge in Rafah, to the south, leaving behind not just our belongings, but also our dreams and treasured memories.

<div>It has been more than seven months since we were forced to part ways with our normal lives. The ongoing conflict has brought great suffering to us all. Our pain deepened on March 18th when a direct missile strike by Israeli forces on Al-Shifa Hospital tragically killed my older sister and injured her daughter. Thankfully, her husband and their three daughters survived this horrifying incident.

<div>The conflict has drained our financial resources and led to the hoarding of essential supplies (Food, Clothing, etc.) . As the Israeli forces continue to advance towards Rafah, our situation grows even more dire.
