<div>Our family is facing an unimaginable tragedy. We are trying to raise $35000 to cover funeral expenses and legal costs after the loss of three lives.

<div>My brother struggled with mental illness and had previously been diagnosed with schizophrenia. Despite serious concerns about his mental health, he was released from custody even after a mental competency order had been filed by a judge.

<div>This tragedy resulted in the loss of two innocent lives, and later my brother also lost his life in an encounter with police. Our family is heartbroken and overwhelmed.

<div>We now must arrange three funerals, including caskets and services, while also seeking legal guidance to understand what happened and whether this tragedy could have been prevented.

<div>We believe the system failed our family — the state, the jail, and the court system — and we want answers.
