Support Academy Dance Westlake Village!

As we are all aware, the COVID-19 pandemic has ravished through small businesses.  ADWV has tried vigorously to keep their studio alive so our dancers have an outlet to not only express their passion and art, but also to socialize safely and relish in moments of normalcy during an entirely abnormal world. After months and months of constant changes to stay afloat while meeting Covid restrictions – from having to cancel all classes, to dancing entirely virtually, to offering small capacity camps, to initially investing in $10,000 for an outdoor dance space that quickly grew to spending much more than that, to dealing with devastating winds that then destroyed parts of their outdoor dance space, to simply preparing for the next unknown challenge – they are exhausted.  Mentally, emotionally, physically, and almost financially exhausted.

But if you know them, you know they don’t give up.  They believe now more than ever the importance of providing a safe space for our community to continue to flourish during these trying times.  As two small business owners, they tried their best to give as much as they could to their community of teachers, staff, and dancers throughout the past 8 months.  They offered a free 6-week virtual program to their dancers while still keeping their faculty and staff employed. When they were able to expand their program, they brought everyone back onto their normal working hours and have continued to do so even through this transition.

Many of us ADWV families and friends have asked them how we can help so they don’t completely exhaust all their resources.  THE MOMENT TO HELP IS NOW.  To fully invest in an outdoor space that is not only suitable and safe for our dancers of all ages to dance with them, but to also create a space that provides weather protection, above par sound and lighting, and the continual feeling of home and comfort we love at ADWV, they are in need of funding far greater than they had anticipated in the beginning of all this.

They  are projecting the outdoor complex to cost upwards of $30,000 to effectively make it the long-lasting home away from home that we will need to get through this pandemic.  The shock-absorbing floor and coverings will cost around $5,000, the tents upwards of $8,000 a month or $20,000 to purchase, the mirrors upwards of $15,000 and the generators, heating, lighting, and storage options upwards of $5,000.

We have all seen businesses like theirs throughout the country successfully raise funds to help build innovative ideas to adapt to our new and hopefully temporary normal. They’ve come to a moment where they need our help to do just that.  All donations, whether it is $1.00 to $10.00 to $100.00, will go exclusively to help build an outdoor dance space and literally save their livelihood, a dance studio that means so much to so many of us.  Please consider donating so we can allow them to continue to be a staple in the community and allow our dancers to keep dancing.
