Support us so that Armi and I can be together again
We are asking the Hungarian and American authorities to immediately return my child to his familiar, safe environment, and to take all necessary steps to ensure that he can go back to his loving family — to the home where he has been raised for the past three years.
In the past few days, I have lived through the most painful moments of my life.
My little boy, Armi, was taken from his kindergarten on Tuesday with police involvement, as the Hungarian child protection services, the bailiff, and the police acted together. His safety was put at risk — he was taken without his documents, medication, clothes, or vaccination records, forcibly removed from my father’s arms, and handed over to his biological father — a man with proven alcohol problems who doesn’t speak Hungarian.
The Hungarian child protection authorities knew perfectly well that the father struggles with alcoholism — they had all the evidence: psychological reports, records of drunk driving, videos, and messages. Yet, they still executed a court order that was never properly investigated.
Armi has lived in Hungary for the past three years. He attended a Hungarian-speaking kindergarten and was thriving. During this time, his father made no contact whatsoever — he didn’t pay child support, never reached out, and didn’t send even a birthday or Christmas gift.
We made several attempts to reach an amicable agreement. With the help of an Indian mediator, we sent multiple proposals to the father, including specific visitation dates, but he never responded, and his lawyer refused to cooperate. Throughout the process, I emphasized that the child’s well-being must come first. In no culture and under no circumstances should a four-year-old child be torn away from his mother.
This summer, it even seemed that the father’s family was open to dialogue. We had scheduled a meeting for September 26 in Vienna to discuss visitation details — but the father backed out at the last moment.
Then, on October 21, my worst nightmare came true.
The bailiff, child protection services, and police arrived at the kindergarten and, with police assistance, took my four-year-old son away.
By the time I arrived, Armi was already gone.
I wasn’t able to explain to him what was happening, nor could I pack his clothes, documents, or toys.
Armi speaks only Hungarian and doesn’t understand English, so now he is in a completely foreign country, surrounded by strangers, suffering from both linguistic and emotional trauma. His father doesn’t even allow FaceTime calls, so I currently have no way of contacting my son.
Armi is in danger.
This entire situation is deeply traumatizing for him.
Right now, I am doing everything I can to secure legal assistance in the United States — an attorney who can represent our case before the New York court. Our previous case to “terminate the enforcement” was unfortunately lost after being suspended for a year.
The legal costs of the past years have completely drained us, but now I urgently need to hire an American lawyer so that my little boy can be safe again.
Please — if you can — help me reunite with my son.
Every bit of support, every share, and every kind word matters.
Thank you for standing by us during this incredibly difficult time.
We need all the strength, compassion, and connection we can get right now.
