<div>On Saturday March 23, 2024 Alex and Tara Walsh received some of the worst news any parent could get. After an ER visit with their 7 week old Addilyn turned up some concerning blood test results, their family was transferred to the U of M Children’s Hospital. Further tested revealed that their sweet little Addie was diagnosed with a rare form of infant Leukemia. Since then, she has been receiving round-the-clock care from the pediatric oncology unit. This fierce little lady has faced so many challenges in her time on earth so far including feeding tubes, regular blood tests, an aggressive chemotherapy schedule, spinal fluid draws, surgical care, oxygen lines, and the list goes on. Through each challenge Addie continues to fight and show those around her how tough she is, especially using her well known “side eye” with the medical staff.

<div>Since the diagnosis, Alex and Tara have been navigating a path that is not wished on anyone. As a team they have had to listen to very difficult news from the medical team and watch their beautiful daughter go through so much. They are going through sleepless nights, separation from family, tough decision-making conversations while also trying to juggle both their positions at small businesses in the Rose City area. With the support of family and friends, Tara’s winery “Country Corner” is still able to remain open at reduced hours. Alex’s working hours at his family owned business have been able to be modified to allow him more family time. Family members are also continuing to watch over Alex and Tara’s dog “Rocky” as Tara is staying at the hospital and Alex has a modified schedule at home.

<div>Addie continues to conquer each challenge thrown her way but she will have a long road to recovery including receiving a bone marrow transplant and regular testing to ensure she achieves and remains in remission.
