Support Adam Mercado's Recovery Journey

Hello,

My name is Adam Mercado and recently, I was the victim of a random act of violence. My girlfriend and I left her downtown apartment Saturday night to catch the last call at a local bar, the City Tavern. I noticed a man standing off to the side of the entrance, watching the patrons on the patio, holding a tree branch that had been whittled into a spear at one end. I moved my girlfriend and myself into the bar away from this man. Upon exiting the bar, we entered the patio to say our goodbyes. It is at this point that the perpetrator walks up behind me and swings the branch at my head and neck. I collapsed to the ground. The police and EMTs arrived on the scene immediately. I eventually spent 6 hours in the ER.

I am extremely blessed to say that all of the scans and tests that the doctors performed have come back clear. Unfortunately, I am now faced with medical bills that I cannot afford, accompanied by wages lost over the last few days. Any amount of help is vastly appreciated and means more to me than you will ever know.
