Campaign to decriminalise abortion - SA

The South Australian Abortion Action Coalition (saaac) is in its fifth year of campaigning for abortion to be removed from the criminal code in South Australia. This includes working to introduce safe access zones around abortion services.
A Bill to decriminalise abortion is now before parliament and, if it passes, abortion will be completely decriminalised in South Australia. This will make access to services more equitable for all (especially those living in rural & non-metro areas), reduce stigma, and make sure abortion is regulated by the health care system, just like all other health care.
We need community support to keep lobbying, build support, and to raise awareness of the facts around abortion access.
Money raised will help us with printing, media and marketing development, website administration, events, lobbying and publicity.

The South Australian Abortion Action Coalition (saaac) is a broad coalition of people whose goal is to improve access to abortion in South Australia. Members have diverse backgrounds, including the medical, legal, academic, social justice, and advocacy professions.
We are united by a belief that best quality abortion care is enabled when abortion is the decision of the person requiring access, is affordable to all, and is accessible regardless of someone's location. Abortion should be regulated like any other health service. Its location in the criminal law creates significant barriers to best care – we think it’s time this changed.
