Can you help us take care of emergency health costs for our 11 year old pug Abelard? He is our sweet little funny baby boy and we’re overwhelmed by vet costs on our very tight budget. Abelard was brought to the emergency vet on 11/7 and diagnosed with pneumonia brought on by aspirating food. He has been back and forth from home to the vet several times just in the last four days, including overnight stays. He was given oxygen, antibiotics, and IV fluids, which have helped. It’s unclear if he will need further overnight vet stays. Abelard has a long way to go. He still has a bad cough and needs constant close monitoring at home. He has vaso vagal syncope so if he coughs too hard or for too long he will faint. We can’t suppress the cough because the phlegm and fluid needs to come out, so we are on high alert every time he has a coughing fit (which is often).

We’re relieved to have been approved for Care Credit. Total vet expenses so far have been $3500 which we have 6 months to pay off before high interest charges kick in, making it impossible to pay off. He will need followup x-rays, special food, and other supportive items. We know it’s a big ask, and we will be so grateful for any help our friends can chip in.
