Normally around this time of year I am raising money for my son's football activities. This year, unfortunately, I have to raise money to cover legal expenses to get him back to being able to play the sport his loves and back into a school where he has worked incredibly hard for the last three years.
My son was expelled without being given due process and if anyone knows the law, or is vaguely familiar with it, you know that it is illegal; yet, he was expelled and even though I appealed, the decision was upheld. It was upheld even though it was believed that we did not receive due process, but the facilitating Hearing Officer said, "the evidence is compelling."
Without giving too much detail, my son was involved in a fight, in which he was not the aggressor, but because he was the victor is being penalized far more excessively than those who actually instigated the fight. Not only had the duration of his junior year ended abruptly, but now they want to ruin his senior year and take his final year of football away from him by expelling him to an alternative school while the instigators get to go to college or whatever other plans they have post high school.
I am asking as humble as I can for your help to get my back son back where he belongs. He is not perfect, but he is certainly an attribute to his high school where he has worked incredibly hard for the last three years. He is football player that has given the team all of his summers, falls, and springs. He is a student who tests well so his LEAP scores have certainly contributed to maintaining a relatively decent SPS score for the school. He is also a part time student at NOCC to attain a certification as an electrician. He has already begun to receive certifications through the program that, again, helps increase the SPS score of the school.
Thank you in advance for any help that you can offer.
