We are committed to upholding the mission of the International Committee of Sports for the Deaf ("ICSD") by strengthening its ethical foundations and help create an efficient and effective organization that promotes democracy, transparency and good communication within ICSD for our Deaf and Hard of Hearing athletes, worldwide. 

The objective of this fundraising is to fund a legal claim to review ICSD’s commercial registry in the Canton of Vaud, Lausanne which will be heard on the 28th January, 2022. The reason for this claim is because the previous ICSD Board believes there were significant governance issues at ICSD impacting Deaf Sports that include but is not limited to the following:

·      the unusual and unconstitutional action to replace the ICSD Board with officers in a non-voting capacity;

·      the inadequate Board oversight of financial and operational activities at ICSD; and 

·      Congress not being properly called or delivered in December 2021. 

Marijo Lusic, Grigor Grigoryan and Rebecca Adam were  left feeling devastated and deeply concerned  for ICSD and what the future holds for Deaf and Hard of Hearing athletes. 

All funds raised through this page will be used to pay Peter Ruggle, Attorney At Law, Zurich who has done a lot of work to date to support the ICSD Board with these issues.

We believe this work is important because a transparent ICSD requires good governance that begins with a shared commitment to define and implement the applicable rules in a coherent and equitable manner. We believe that the difference between good governance and poor governance always results from inadequate application of rules that that have been adopted or from deliberate misapplication of them. 

We want to see the establishment of good governance to lead the ICSD into a strong and sustainable future guided by independent professionals. Our Deaf and hard of hearing athletes deserve to compete in sports that is clean and fair.

The purpose of this fundraising page is to ask for your help with the legal fees in achieving these objectives. By assisting here, you are contributing to a transparent future at ICSD for our for deaf and hard of hearing athletes who deserve to be supported through world class events that are clean, transparent and fair for all!

This GoFundMe has been created on behalf of Peter Ruggle with his full consent. If any funds are not used, they will be held in trust to be used towards other legal or similar advocacy work required by those impacted by governance issues at ICSD.
