Hi everyone, thank you for taking the time to read this.
This is embarrassing for me, but I'm at the point where I am desperate and I really need help.
On May 20, 2020, my daughter's father got an emergency ex parte and took Eleanor from me. At the time, I can actually say that wasn't a bad thing; it was what I needed. It was my rock bottom. Over the past five years, I have transformed myself from an alcoholic/addict who blamed everyone for my problems into a woman with grace and dignity who admits when she was wrong and tries every single day to do better than she did the day before. Today, I live in sobriety. I have strong faith and rely on God to get me through everything. There are no mistakes in God's world, and while I may have trouble accepting that sometimes, I know this to be true.
I'm fighting to get my daughter back. I've managed to save some money, but after doing some research, I'm about $2000 short for a retainer for a good family lawyer.
Her father has unlimited means and has an expensive lawyer, and sadly, that seems to be all you need. I want to say that all my years of proven hard work and sobriety will sway any judge to say she deserves more time, but sadly, it just doesn't work that way. I need a lawyer. So that's why I'm doing this. I have to swallow my pride and keep Eleanor in the forefront of my mind as I write this.
I need help. I need a lawyer. I'm fighting to get my daughter back and that's all she wants.
So if you can give anything, I would appreciate it. This is extremely hard for me to ask, but I'm doing it. I'm desperate. My daughter needs me.
