A friend of mine is part of the mass government lay-offs occurring with the National Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (NIOSH). She is a single mother who has built a life for her and her son despite several "road bumps," including a near-fatal blood clot. She is the definition of grit, determination, and hard work. She also lacks what we often take for granted - a strong parental and/or familial support system. While I'm purposefully not specifying her name, none of this is a secret.

Given her upcoming unemployment, she'll be faced to pay over $900/month to retain her current healthcare coverage. (The PA marketplace options do not cover her specialists or medications, so she'll have to do COBRA.) I am asking you to consider a donation of any amount. I don't care if it's $5. This person has had too many things thrown at her in her life. I would love to toss her a helping hand instead of another pothole.
