<div>Dear Compassionate Souls
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>My name is Loay S. Kanou, and I am a medical doctor from Gaza.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I have been working in the emergency departments of Al-Shifa Hospital and Al-Ahli Arab Hospital in Northern Gaza, treating trauma patients since October 2023 until now. While working under bombings and living in overcrowded shelters, I continued to chase my dream of improving healthcare in Gaza.

</div>
<div>Even with no stable electricity or internet, I completed my university applications, often from hospital corridors. I am proud to share that I have been accepted to the University of St Andrews in the UK to study for a master’s degree in mental health and trauma. I have also received a full STEPS scholarship, which will cover my tuition and living expenses in the UK. However, because of the war and the complete closure of the borders, I was unable to leave Gaza in 2024. Thankfully, the scholarship committee understood my situation and deferred my offer to 2025.

<div><br />
</div>
<div>Now, I am doing everything I can to make it out this year. The hardest part now is getting out.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The scholarship supports my studies and living expenses in the UK, but I still need help to cover the costs of leaving Gaza and finishing my visa process. I am raising money (£15,000) to cover:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<ul>
<li>Border fees and travel costs to Egypt (£6,000)
</li>
<li>Living costs in Egypt while I wait for my UK visa (£4,000)
</li>
<li>Extra £5, 000 to support my family and to rehabilitate our severely damaged home.
</li>
</ul>
<div><br />
</div>

<div><br />
</div>
<div>Your support, no matter how small, will help me leave Gaza safely and start my studies at St Andrews.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This journey is not only for me. It is for every patient I cared for, every student I taught, and every person in Gaza who believes in the power of education to heal and rebuild.

<div>Please consider donating or sharing this campaign.

<div><br />
</div>
<div>With your help, I can make it.
</div>

<div>Thank you so much!
