<div>Nick was recently admitted to his local hospital after experiencing week-long nausea and vomiting which led to a devastating and shocking diagnosis of Stage 4 Lung Cancer with mets to the spine and brain. We are hoping this GoFundMe can be used to ease some of the burden off him and his long term girlfriend, Katie as they begin their unknown journey into Nick's treatment plan. We are still awaiting the final pathology report, which will indicate which chemo regimen he will undergo, but he will begin his fight by completing 5 days of radiation to his brain tumor starting Wednesday, March 5.

<div>Nick is 38 years old and currently lives in Puyallup with his girlfriend Katie Clark and their two dogs, Oliver and Penny. Nick started his career in Fire Service in 2003 at North County Fire in Arlington, WA at only 17 years old, while still attending High School. In 2006, Nick attended WSU to study Biology and Premed and during that time he worked for District 12 in Pullman. After graduating from WSU, Nick attended Paramedic school at CBC in Richland and went on to work for AMR Spokane, Medstar Flight Tri Cities, Skagit Medic One, Anacortes Fire, Island Air, Everett Fire, and now currently works for South County Fire and AMR Lewis County.

<div>Due to Nick's extensive years of experience and education in the medical field, he spends his spare time teaching healthcare providers important life saving skills throughout Oregon and Washington State, both with his own company as well as Cascade Training Center. His area of expertise are Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). In any remaining spare time that Nick can find outside this busy schedule, he enjoys being outdoors, fishing, camping, traveling, exercising, and spending time with Katie and their dogs.

<div>As Nick's younger sister, I have spent my life looking up to Nick, not only for how hard of a worker he is, but, more importantly, for his servant's heart. He has shown up for me personally for every important life event, including walking me down the aisle at my wedding and checking in on me all throughout my own recent journey with breast cancer. Nick is not one to ask others for help, yet he has spent the last 22 years of his life serving his communities and putting his own life and health on the line through his work of fire fighting and EMS. Please join his family in coming together to support Nick in this time of need as we try to give him back just a fraction of the service that he has so selflessly given to others.
