Not only has it been a lifelong dream to be a published author, but I have been working up the courage to tell this story for years; my story. Your trauma is not what defines you, but how you prosper from it that does. Telling this story is helping not only me but my family heal, and I hope that it helps so many others who have suffered the same circumstances heal as well. I am a stay-at-home mom of two beautiful daughters who I want to set an example for, that example being you can achieve any goal you set in your heart no matter how many obstacles you may face throughout your journey, and that the things that happen to you will never take away from your value or determine who you are or what you will be and achieve.

The Darkness Dealt is a chilling life journey with triggering topics and graphic scenes that lead to self-discovery as well as battling inner demons to discover who you wish to be and not who you should have been. Where you come from is not your story and doesn’t determine where you go. That road to the person you want to be can be long and hard and sometimes feel impossible. Sometimes it’s easier to stay where you are and hide in the darkness dealt to you rather than venturing into unfamiliar territory. Sometimes when you finally find the light, you’re scared of what you might actually see. I want to help people see. I hope that the impacting scenes in this book and the emotions behind the words give others the courage to find their own light.
