<div> I am very disabled and immunocompromised. I live on SSDI (Social  Security Disability Income), but my rent is more than my SSDI check every month, and I have reached my limit. I have emptied out what little 401(k) I had, depleted all of my meager savings, and have no other financial resources as a disabled woman living in the United States in poverty. As a disabled immunocompromised woman I need to be kept housed and safe from sexual violence and Covid on the streets. I have no friends or family to take me in.

<div>Your donations and shares to friends/communities/shares online will, most importantly, keep me housed. Your donations will literally keep me alive.They will additionally help me eat, and pay utilities. I am food insecure, and am now four months behind on rent. I go many days at a time without eating, five, six, seven. The county where I live has very little resources for me. I have signed up for every affordable housing application, and program that I can think of. I continue to do so and I look every day for more affordable housing.

<div>I was able to secure a partial housing grant which pays approximately almost 2/3 of my current rent. But I'm still left with $1000 a month that I cannot pay. I simply cannot. I have to eat, I have medication, co-pays, doctor, co-pays, and as a woman with complex illnesses, I do see my physicians more often than most people.

<div>So every thousand dollars of donations keeps me housed another month..

<div>I have small fiber neuropathy (which leaves me with burning, tingling pain all over my body and often on my skin), other chronic pain conditions, fibromyalgia, severe fatigue, C- PTSD, severe multiple types of OCD, deep depression, panic attacks, chronic anxiety, and dermatillomania and trichotillomania. I survived childhood abuse and CSA.

<div>Here's how I got to this crisis and it certainly wasn't because of financial irresponsibility on my part. I've been working since I was 14 and I worked my way through UC Berkeley and I worked jobs until my body and mind broke and I was taken out of work.

<div>I have been disabled and living on Federal SSDI since 2009. I lived in a rent controlled apartment for 30 years which was infested with toxic mold and I got very sick and was forced to flee my rent controlled apartment in January 2021. I have medical records to document what happened.

<div>I spent a year searching for a new apartment. That apartment is the apartment where ultimately had to move. This apartment is where I had to empty out what little I had in my 401(k) to pay rent.

<div>My  apartment where I currently reside as above  is not rent controlled. My rent is $2800 a month. my rental grant takes care of $1800 of that.  My SSDI check per month is approx. $1900.00. Every month I am in the red. I have lost close to 30 pounds over the course of the pandemic and I am now clinically malnourished, according to my physician, there are stretches of time where I’ve gone 3 to 5 days without eating, my brain is shutting down because of hunger, I cannot think straight, I cry all the time, and my short term memory is completely gone because of panic attacks and malnutrition. My doctor was thinking of admitting me to the hospital to get fed since I cannot afford food.

<div>My neurologist wanted to admit me last summer of 2022 to the ICU for malnutrition to get me to fed because I could not afford food.

<div>As an immunocompromised woman I will not survive eviction because I have nowhere to go, no family to take me in, and no friends. I am dangerously isolated. And I would not survive on the streets, I would quickly die from Covid as an immuno compromised person even vaxxed and boosted because my particular condition makes it so that I have a lesser vaccine response to COVID-19 vaccines.

<div>in addition the cost of PPE has just destroyed me over the pandemic. I have had to pay out of pocket for N 100 respirators which are close to $13 apiece now on Amazon, I have had to pay thousands of dollars for face shields, goggles, disposable gloves, N 95 masks when I cannot afford N100 masks, full face respirators, disinfectants, etc.

<div>I've lived on just disability for just over 16 years now after starting work at 14, working my way through UC Berkeley, and working hard at all of my jobs (tech, biotech, radio, etc.) despite multiple disabilities.

<div>Your contributions will help me stay housed, pay back  rent due, and avoid homelessness and certain death. Your contributions will mean that I can have meals more than once or twice a day. I have been homeless once before, when I was very young, and I know that now with advanced disabilities I will not survive it. I doubt I will last six weeks.
