<div>Washington, originally from Ecuador, has complied with all immigration requirements since filing his asylum case in 2023. He attended his scheduled check-ins every four months, as required by law. However, after nearly three years of following the process, he was unexpectedly detained during his credible fear interview, which was found to be positive. Despite this, immigration authorities in Newark detained him.

<div>Since then, Washington has been held for more than 8 months at the Delaney Hall detention center. His entire family is going through an extremely difficult time, both emotionally and financially. His wife, Pilar Broncano, has faced serious health challenges due to diabetes, which caused her to lose her job. She is now the sole provider and caregiver for their two children while fighting to prevent her husband’s deportation.

<div>Washington is now facing deportation to Honduras. In a desperate effort to keep their family together, Pilar has filed a habeas corpus petition. However, having legal representation is essential, and the legal costs are very high. The family urgently needs financial support to hire an immigration attorney to continue his defense.

<div>This situation has deeply affected the entire family. Their children are suffering from the absence of their father, and Pilar is doing everything she can to stay strong for them.
