SUPPORT WA ARTISTS, MUSICIANS & CREATIVES

Donation protected

Who we are helping:
The “HELP SUPPORT WA MUSICIANS, ARTISTS & CREATIVE INDUSTRY WORKERS” fund is designed to help artists, musicians and creative industries workers whose livelihood has been threatened as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Fund has been established by Ash Lee, Content Manager of Around The Sound, and is intended to provide financial assistance to as many creative industries workers living and working in Western Australia as possible.

What we are asking for:
Around the Sound is asking you to please consider giving whatever you can, every single donation counts, no amount is too small and your help is greatly appreciated. If 10,000 people can find it in their hearts to donate just $2.00 then we will be able to provide 20,000 people in WA with $1,000 financial aid.

How will your donations be used:
Your donations will go directly into the hands of those that we are helping to aid them with anything they may need it for. Rent, mortgage, groceries, utilities, etc.

When will aid be provided:
As soon as we have $10,000 raised, the application process will be opened.

How do I qualify:
If you live in Western Australia and are an artist/musician/creative industry worker who is currently without work or income due to the COVID-19 pandemic and your application is approved, you qualify.

Why we are asking for your help:
The recent event cancellations and postponements have already had a devastating impact, all over the country. In Western Australia, the arts and music community is no different and many of the artists, musicians and creative industry people involved are staring down a long and scary tunnel with no potential income for the foreseeable future.

With a large number of the venues, businesses and events that artists, musicians and creative industry workers rely upon as their main avenue to earn an income facing funding cuts and being heavily impacted by their loss of revenue; many of these establishments are predicting permanent closure and for those that do survive, the road to recovery will be long and daunting.

This will  have a domino effect on the Western Australian artists, musicians and creative industry workers and the purpose of this fund is to try to help as many of these people as possible.

The goal for now is to reach $20,000. If and when that number is hit we'll raise the goal again to whatever it needs to be. We will continue collecting money as long as you are donating it. Once we have $10,000, we will be opening up the fund for financial aid applications. At that point, anyone who meets the eligibility criteria can apply to receive $1000 from the fund and they will receive that money as soon as they have had their application approved.

We hope to provide financial aid to as many people as possible and whilst we have stated that applicants are only eligible to apply for and receive the financial aid once, this may change and depends entirely upon the generosity of your donations as well as the number of applicants received.

Around The Sound wants to highlight that your donations are not for us – One hundred percent of all monies raised will go directly to the applicants.

In the past, it has been thes creative industry workers who have time and time again stood in solidarity with the people of Australia to tirelessly fund, donate and support charities when, through no fault of their own, they find themselves in critical situations where their livelihoods are threatened.

We have seen them do this recently with Fire Aid and with Drought Aid fundraisers  spearheaded by the creative industry sectors. This situation is no different, we need your support and we need you to help us wherever possible.

Around the Sound is asking you to please consider giving whatever you can, every single donation counts, no amount is too small and your help is greatly appreciated. If 10,000 people can find it in their hearts to donate just $2.00 then we will be able to provide 20,000 people in WA with $1,000 financial aid.
