<div>In the early hours of 8th January 2025, Cleo Davies unexpectedly collapsed at her home in Axford, Wiltshire, and was rushed to hospital by her family who had no idea what was wrong with her. At only 22 years old and usually fit and healthy, Cleo was shockingly found to have a rare blood cancer called APL Leukaemia. If that wasn't bad enough, Cleo had suffered a devastating stroke from a blood clot in her brain. She has been left unable to speak and with paralysis on the right side of her body. This has left Cleo unable to stand/walk or move her right arm and leg.

<div>Cleo has been critically ill since, battling the leukaemia with high dose chemotherapy, along with a host of other health issues including sepsis, flu, a constantly dislocating jaw and numerous infections. Cleo's parents have been repeatedly warned by her doctors of her chances of survival and each time she has fought valiantly and beaten the odds.

<div>The NHS teams within the Critical Care Unit/Haemotology/Oncology at Great Western Hospital, Swindon, have given excellent care and Cleo's parents are grateful to all staff for their continued dedication to improving Cleo's health. Unfortunately, Cleo's NHS stroke care has been limited so far, as it has been difficult to manage chemotherapy alongside the various therapies which she needs, such as physio, and speech and language therapy.

<div>Healthcare professionals at the hospital have recommended Cleo has Intensive Rehabilitation under NHS care when well enough, followed by private Intensive Rehabilitation. After much research on recommended stroke recovery facilities, Cleo's parents have discovered that there is a nearby branch of 'Hobbs Neurological Rehabilitation Services' within the much respected 'Injured Jockeys Fund Rehab Centre' in Oaksey House, Lambourn. This facility can offer a more personalised care plan with cutting edge therapies and specialist equipment tailored to Cleo's medical needs.

<div>Cleo's parents will of course be supporting her financially at this time, however private rehabilitation is incredibly expensive and costs can often spiral into tens of thousands. At only 22 yrs old, Cleo has her whole life ahead of her and we want to support Cleo and her family in giving her the best chance of recovery possible. She deserves nothing less!

<div>It is normally Cleo who is raising funds for her much loved animal charities, and now it is our turn to help Cleo.
