Supplies for Friends and Family in Asheville and WNC
Donation protected
Our names are Natalie and Heather and we are originally from Asheville, NC. We recently relocated to Nashville, TN. We are both Mental Health Counselors seeking donations for purchasing supplies for our friends and family in WNC.
We are seeking support for our friends and family and community members in Asheville and the rural areas of Western North Carolina whose communities were destroyed by hurricane Helene. We are bringing supplies (primarily gas, water, food, and if possible generators) for our friends who have no power, water, or cell phone service.
We did wellness checks on our closest friends and family this weekend and everyone we checked on is safe. Most people have significant obstructions in roads and major damage to power lines which make communication impossible right now and travel dangerous and difficult.
Fema and other emergency services have just started to arrive to Asheville. As of this weekend we only heard of one tent in downtown Asheville. We expect it to take weeks for this kind of support to reach the rural communities.
Here is a list of some supplies we will be delivering this weekend.
Gasoline
Gas cans for fuel
Generators
Non-perishable food
Propane
Water
Pads/Tampons
Diapers
Baby Formula
Sun Showers
Lighters/ Matches
Candles
Batteries
Headlamps
Flashlights
Medicines
We are also seeking to borrow a truck to transport the supplies. Our vehicle has a max cargo load of 1000 lbs.
Thank you for your care and generosity toward our loved ones right now ❤️
