UCF Film: SUPER'MANCE

Donation protected
Introduction:
My name is James Noir (Reynolds on the weekends), and I am currently in my final year at UCF Film School. First off, I just want to thank those who helped support my past 3 films DraculAIDS, The Art of Villainy, and Ace of Clubs in one way or another. Please view the video above for a rundown and first look at the film! We will be shooting in December and need all the help we can get.

Premise:
SUPER'MANCE is a superhero romance in the same vein as Romeo & Juliet and West Side Story with a twist on the coming-of-age genre. The world is split up into Capes and Masks who arch one another from birth. The characters who live in a world of everyday battles soon see each other under a different light during their one astronomical holiday in which no one on the planet has powers for one night.

What's Different about this Film?:
I've always wanted to take the superhero genre into new directions, so instead of a superhero film with a romantic feel, it's more of a romance film with a superhero feel. For example, as opposed to just using slow-motion for fight scenes, I want to use it to take the emotions of the characters to the next level, prolong some moments that feel as though they were happening to superhumans as opposed to normal humans.

The Purpose of this Film:
This Independent Study will serve as my final, graduating project in the UCF Film B.F.A. Program. More importantly, I plan to do a Superhero Feature following the completion and distribution of this film. I want to hit the festival circuit with this and my other films as this film will primarily serve as an audition to show my qualifications for shooting a superhero film in which people can view to fund my feature. Matthew Vaughn did Kick-Ass before Marvel gave him X-Men: First Class, James Gunn did Super before Marvel gave him Guardians of the Galaxy, Kieran and Michele Mulroney wrote and directed Paper Man before getting to write Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows and DC let them develop the Justice League film. Before people want to give you money to do something, they want to be sure you can do it.
This film will eventually be a part of the 4-Film Blu-ray/DVD that I will also use to fund my feature.

Budget Breakdown:
Honestly, I need at least 2 grand minimum to shoot this thing, so I'm already throwing down a chunk of change to get it done. But any addition amount that people can chip in will help tremendously.
-Camera: ($700) I'm going to rent a Sony FS700 to accomplish the desired slow motion emotional effects (http://vimeo.com/41787520).
-Costumes: ($400) For the four main characters and basic for extras.
-Props/Set Decoration ($300)
-Post Sound Re-Recording Mixing: ($150)
-Hair & Makeup ($150-$200)
-Food ($150-200)
-Generator: ($100 per day, plus gas) No more than two days...
For Those Who Can't Donate:
The most important thing is the sharing of information via word of mouth or social media. Somebody else might be interested in helping out that I otherwise wouldn't have contact with! Every dollar helps... except Canadian dollars... they don't help.

Thank you for still reading...
