Superheroes for Andrew Barr Lebo KS

This gofundme is being set up in correlation with a benefit event for the Andrew Barr Family. 100% of all the money raised will go immediately to the family.
Andrew is a sweet 8-year-old boy that started having health problems when he was 6 months old. He loves Mickey Mouse, Superman, laughing, and has the biggest smile you have ever seen! If you ever get the chance to meet this superhero you will be blessed. He loves everyone and will give you some of the best hugs.
Andrew has a TBR1 gene mutation that prevents proteins from binding correctly in his brain causing neurological problems. He also has been diagnosed with Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome. This is a very rare form of epilepsy and is only found in about 2% of cases. There is no medication that can truly treat it. The family has encountered a lot of medical expense. They have to travel out of the area regularly for medical care for Andrew. Insurance is great, but there is still much it does not cover. The cost of gas, hotels, and food while traveling for medical reasons are some.
Right now insurance is not covering the cost of a seizure medication that Andrew desperately needs. They have to wait six months before they can file another appeal to have it covered. The medication is extremely expensive, $26,000.00 a month and right now they can not afford it. We really would like to help them afford the medication while going through the appeals process for insurance.
The goal of this event is to ease some of the financial stress of having a child with severe health issues.
On November 17th there will be a 5K walk/run at 10:00 am. After the walk/run, we will be hosting a free will donation taco bar. During the event, there will be a silent auction and raffle. You will also be able to get pictures with Superheroes.
