Anthony's amazing parents are committed to staying by his side during his recovery and I would be so grateful to help ease the financial impact of missing work to do so. Thank you to anyone and everyone who contributes, I know Amanda and Derek are riding the waves and waiting for more tests and results, every prayer is appreciated.
On Friday, January 22, my best friend and sister in law received a call that any mother would dread. Her daycare provider called to let her know her beautiful son Anthony was not responding after a nap. Amanda didn't hesitate, drove immediately to the daycare and rode with Anthony in the ambulance.
Intubated and stabilized, the tests began and and determined Anthony had bleeding in the brain. Amanda rode in the helicopter as they were air lifted to MacMaster Children's Hospital. A three hour surgery came next, removing a portion of his skull to relieve pressure from his brain and remove the blood. We are all still anxiously waiting for more tests and results as Anthony remains sedated as he heals.
Anthony is under the care of multiple teams of amazing doctors and his parents have remained by his side. He is such a precious and special part of so many people's lives, we are praying constantly for good news and are holding our breath until we get the updates from his incredible parents. He is so smart, charming, happy and loves his mama and dada more than anyone. We wish we could flood the waiting rooms to show our support, just to hug and hold them and process this together.
The costs of living in the hospital will add up quickly so this is the least we could do.
Anthony's recovery and rehabilitation are our main priority but relieving the financial strain by raising money they could use for meals, transportation, bills, whatever they may need so they can focus all their energy and love into their little man and his healing without worrying.
One day at a time, we are all here for you and praying our hearts out. When we get to hold you all, we might not ever let go.
