Super K is fighting FIP - Feline Inf. Peritonitis

Donation protected
This is Kevin! Our sweet 8 months old Bengal cat who is now fighting against FIP - Feline Infectious Peritonitis.

Kevin is a very loving bengal cat, who loves outdoor adventures. We live close to the beach, and regularly go there for walks so Kevin can do some bird watching and tree climbing. If you want to know more about Kevin's life, check his instagram page @kthebengal
He joined our home last November and we have not had a dull moment since. He is the sunshine in our lives and we treat him as he is the king of the world.

In the past couple of weeks maybe a little bit longer, we started to notice changes in his behaviour and habits. He went from a normal playful, energetic bengal, to a very lethargic cat, zero appetite and what it seemed a very edgy cat.

We went to the Vets just seeking an appetite stimulant, as he was loosing weight pretty quick.  What we found was that he had a fever and needed drugs and some blood test were taken.
Two days later, he was on IV due to dehydration. Some of his results showed large abnormalities and  the Vets wanted more tests to be completed.
By the fourth day, we got the diagnoses. Kevin has FIP.
Devastating news, until recently this disease was 100% fatal and euthanasia was always recommended. Here in Australia there is a treatment, it is fairly new and not every Vet knows about it or wants to use it. Luckily we have a good Vet team fighting along side us to keep Kevin alive.

It is a long, exhausting and VERY EXPENSIVE treatment but we are doing it for our fur baby, he has brought so much joy into our lives, he deserves every chance we can give him.

Although we have pet insurance, our cover has almost reached the limit and we have not even purchased all the medication involved for stage one (FIP injections, vitamins, pain killers, probiotics, anxiety tablets, nausea tablets, appetite stimulant, blood tests and let along visits to the Specialists)

First full stage last 3 months, starts with 3 days of high dosage through IV at the specialist and then 81 more days of 1 injection daily.
Once the first stage is completed, he will be in observation for another 3 months and hopefully after that period of time, stage two will not be needed.

We are reaching out today to the community to help us with anything to fight alongside Kevin, against this fatal disease. Even if each person only gives $1, the power of the community will make it all add up. If 1000 people see this, it would be $1000. To us right now every single DOLLAR really does matter. The community really can make a difference in Kevins life.

All funds will go towards Kevin's medical treatment.

If we have more funds than required by the end of our journey, all money will be donated to Zen By Cat to help continue the research into ways of treating FIP and making access to medication easier in the future. https://www.zenbycat.org/

We will be forever grateful to everyone who can help us keeping Kevin alive and healthy.
