Super Juniper

Juniper is a 6mo little girl who belongs to a friend of mine. She has been in the hospital for several weeks and will be moved to Boston Children’s Hospital, hopefully in a few days. Having never gone through anything like this, I can only imagine how difficult it must be. I do know that it can take a huge financial toll, especially with travel costs, lodging and eating away from home. They are part of a wonderful community of people who are helping to care for their other children, and I want them to be able to focus on the healing of their baby girl, not on their finances. I have asked Jessie to write a small summary of what’s been going on with beautiful baby Juniper.
“On Friday April 12 I called 911 because I thought Juniper was having a seizure. Docs determined it’s not seizures but ‘dystonic episodes’ that look very similar to seizures. They don’t know what is causing them, and haven’t found a medicine that can stop them other than sedation. We were moved to PICU for sedation & have been in the PICU for two weeks. We have been accepted to Boston Children’s and once insurance goes through we will be transferred. Mike has been training for a new job in Atlanta for a month & has to start work next week so cannot come with us. My mom has been staying with Mirabelle and Max. We are hoping to figure out the cause of the episodes & how to treat them in Boston. Juniper is a strong little fighter and is determined to get better. Her siblings miss her very much and we cannot wait to be all together as a family again.”
The funds collected will be used by Juniper’s family to ease the financial burden to allow them to focus all of their energy on Juniper. Prayers and well wishes are also appreciated.
