<div>Hello, my name is Grant Pettigrew, and I’m starting exciting business here in Shetland – the SUP Shetland Outdoor Activities and Wellbeing Centre, based at Delting Boating Club in Brae.
</div>
<div>My family and I moved to Shetland two and half years ago for my job which unfortunately hasn’t worked out and having hit hard times with the sale of our house on the mainland suffering a massive £70k loss and draining our savings I’ve decided it’s time to try and get some help making our dream a reality.
</div>
<div>Our aim is simple but powerful:
</div>
<div>Get people outdoors through paddleboarding and other water-based activities.
</div>
<div>Support mental health and wellbeing by connecting people with nature.
</div>
<div>Bring the community together – from young people and families to older folk who might benefit from gentle outdoor sessions.
</div>
<div>Over the next year, we hope to work with up to 100 people, including local schools, youth services, and wellbeing organisations. But to make this dream a reality, I need your help to get started.
</div>
<div>What your support will fund:

<div>Paddleboards, wetsuits &amp; buoyancy aids – and safety equipment for everyone to enjoy.
</div>
<div>Insurance &amp; safety kit – ensuring all activities are fully covered.
</div>
<div>First sessions – launching community paddleboarding, coasteering, gorge walking, woodland days and wellbeing events.
</div>
<div>Why it matters:

<div>Shetland is an incredible place to live – our coastline, our waters, our community. But many of us struggle with stress, anxiety, or simply feeling disconnected. Outdoor activities like paddleboarding have been proven to boost both physical and mental health.

<div>This project isn’t just about sports – it’s about giving people a safe, supportive space to find confidence, calm, and connection.
</div>
