Suntree Elementary School Outdoor Classrooms

Help Support our NEW Outdoor Classrooms

      At Suntree Elementary School, our students in grades K-6 will be thrilled to arrive back at school with new outdoor learning environments (in addition to their indoor classroom settings).  Statistics show  that outdoor learning has some key benefits for students.  This will provide a fun alternative for students to learn while being outside.

           The goal is to complete 5 additional classrooms (the one shown in the pictures was just donated and completed this June).  The outdoor classrooms will be available for use by all teachers and will be built as the funds are donated (so we can start making them as soon as we have enough for one complete outdoor classroom).  The equipment used is hurricane grade and there will be an ADA compliant classroom available.

           Each classroom costs approximately $5400 and that includes outdoor tables, a trash receptacle, landscape timbers, mulch, and various outdoor building supplies.  If there are any remaining funds they will be used for classroom maintenance (mulch replacement, umbrella replacement, etc.).

           If a company or a few families are able to donate an entire classroom, your appreciation will be recognized with a plaque.

Home Depot Gift Cards- This is where we get all the hardware, wood, etc.
