On September 28th Snook Bight Marina, located within the heart of Fort Myers Beach, was impacted by Hurricane Ian, a Category 4 storm that caused complete devastation. The island remains closed for emergency operations and recovery. Snook Bight has sustained significant damage and will be closed until further notice.
Suntex Marinas stands with Snook Bight Marina and the Southwest Florida Beach communities as we begin to deal with the aftermath and recovery from Hurricane Ian.
We are grateful to report all staff members and their families are accounted for, but many are currently uprooted from their homes and in need of vital resources. Snook Bight Marina was considered the jewel of Fort Myers Beach, and although our facility was state-of-the-art, we attribute this distinction to our staff that Make It Happen for our customers daily.
Our team has a long road ahead to recovery and needs our help as they rebuild their lives. We have created a relief fund for Suntex employees and their families living in Lee, Charlotte, and Collier counties to provide them with the means to acquire emergency supplies and necessities. The funds will help provide immediate needs such as food, water, shelter and more.
We are looking forward to the day Snook Bight Marina re-opens, and our team can once again help create a lifetime of valuable memories on the water.
In conjunction with all the supporters of Snook Bight and Suntex, Rich and Sheri Carter agreed to house the gift donations in a separate savings account and pay out the total gift amount at the direction of the Snook Bight leadership team and Suntex Human Resource team. Gifts will be paid via check written directly to the Snook Bight team member.
