Sunshine's (Jimi's) Hip Surgery

Many of us know Jimi as Sunshine, but only a few of us know how he ended up with that nickname. Sunshine got his name from us, the goofy, scrawny kids back in High School on the Track team. This happened after he moved from Michigan to Upstate New York. Just before he met us, one of our favorite movies to watch together was the "Remember the Titans, movie" and surely enough, there was this kid in filmwho happened to be the new kid on the block. This kid in the movie happened to have long flowy blonde mane, who gardnered himself a nickname, Sunshine. When Jimi first showed up, he also happened to have the long flowy blonde mane, and with him being the new kid on the block, the rest was history.
His nickname is only remembered by us few, but his car accident is remembered by usmany. A lot of us remember the horrific accident he was in almost a couple years ago (July 26 2015), and cannot believe how incredibly lucky he was. For those who may not remember, heard about it, or do not know him, a driver t-boned on his side of the car. In the words of the First Responders, he should have been dead. Fortunately for us and Sunshine, he was not. Unfortunately for Sunshine, he suffered many contusions as result, with hip/leg being the biggest one.

Over the course of couple years after the accident, he was still in a lot of pain from his hip/leg. Several Doctors gave medications and their professional opinions on what is the underlying pain is coming from. Sunshine continues to be frustrated with the doctors and his pain. Until recently, he sought another opinion. This time, the doctor performed a MRI on his hip, and found that he has a complete hip labral tear. Since this tear is severe, Sunshine is in need of hip surgery as soon as possible before he develops osteoarthritis in the hip.
Sunshine has no health insurance, and couldn't afford to buy one himself. He has been paying out of pocket for all of his doctor visits. Now, Sunshine needs our help for the surgery and recovery time once the surgery takes place. Out of humility and thankful hearts, we ask our family, friends, and the community to help out Sunshine cover his initial expenses for the hip surgery..
At the moment, we set our donation goal of 5,000 to cover the beginning costs of the hip surgery, and recovery expenses.
