Dear friends and family,

I never imagined I'd be in the position I am today. A constant source of joy, comfort and strength for me is my best friend, Sunny. This pup truly lives up to his name and brightens all my days, even when things have seemed darkest.

Two months ago, Sunny had an accident and fell badly. It seemed he had recovered with rest, but his back leg started to go lame and and we had to go to urgent care. Almost $2,000, we were home with medicine and rest thinking all would be well. Three days later, Sunny would be completely paralyzed from the waist down.

Ever the "velcro puppy," it was the worst day of my life to see him dragging himself after me to try and follow me around as I tried to get him in the car. At the hospital and to be told: "Sunny needs urgent surgery to live," I had no time to process my absolute grief. With the paralysis dangerously close to Sunny's diaphragm, this surgery was his only chance. However, the costs are overwhelming and truthfully beyond my current means.
