Sunny's Euphoric Sunshine

On July 28, 2017 - Pancreatic Cancer Stage 4 is what they said she has.
What does that mean? How severe is it really? How long does she have?

When you are told your best friend, the person who wipes your tears away when you are sad, who comes over in the middle of the night because you just had a bad break up, who makes you laugh even when she is in pain and says I am still positive with a smile on her face, has the cancer with the highest mortality rate, and only two options to treat this aggressive cancer; you begin to reflect upon the life she was given.

Our Mom (Sonia aka Sunny) is a 53 year old free spirited woman who skips to her own beat when living life. She doesn’t apologize for her creativity, unique character and constant positive out look on life (even at this moment). She loves great food, traveling and learning about new cultures. She raised three daughters on her own and made sure we knew how to respect one another and those in our lives as well as to balance our own check books. Her struggles gave us our drive to want to be better and do better. She made sure we did not pity our situations no matter what was thrown at us. She did the best that she could with the cards she was dealt. If there was one word to describe my mother it would be STRONG.

This GoFundMe page is put together to give my mom that one last Euphoric experience. It gives us (her daughters) that one last beautiful memory of seeing our mother relaxed, happy and just for a moment “cancer free”. We are at our most vulnerable. Letting our loved ones know that our mother, our rock, our heart and our soul is sick and we need a little help to give her an adventure to help forget about her sickness even if its just for a little while.

She has been in and out of the doctors’ office for almost three months letting them know she isn't feeling well and has a lot of pressure in her stomach area. They kept telling her to watch her sugar and that she is constipated. She followed their recommendations on writing her meals down and taking the stool softeners to help her relieve some of the pressure. However nothing was working or being done. On June 28, 2017 my mom was told she had a mass on her pancreas and they would set up a biopsy, it was not set up right away. Prior to them finding the mass she was in the hospital for her sugar for 4 days and for her constipation on 2 separate occasions. For those of you who already know, my mom has beat Breast Cancer not once but Twice and it seemed to the doctors who were treating her that her previous encounter with cancer was irrelevant. On July 20, 2017 they finally schedule her for an endoscopic appointment but they did not prep her correctly and she was still waiting for her biopsy. Sunday July 23, 2017 she was admitted to the hospital because the pain in her belly was so severe. July 27, 2017 the doctor came in to let us know she has cancer. July 28, 2017 they took us into a small room and let us know my mom has Stage 4 Pancreatic cancer. Everything is moving so fast we can’t seem to grasp it; every day there is a new issue that the cancer is effecting.

The sooner we can reach our goal; the sooner we can plan our getaway for this beautiful soul. We are already grateful and thankful for all of those who have reached out to us at the roughest time in our life. We appreciate any donation you maybe able to make and if you cannot help financially that is okay too!
