Sunnycrest Manor Flowerbeds Project

My Name is Kyle Schrumpf, a Life Scout from Troop 69 Dubuque, IA.  This is my Eagle Scout project for the benefit of the residents if Sunnycrest Manor in Dubuque IA...  “Sunnycrest Manor is a long-term care facility overlooking the Mississippi River on the bluffs of Dubuque, Iowa. It is supported by the citizens of Dubuque County and serves residents with financial need who require the assistance of a Nursing Facility (NF) , Skilled (SNF), Residential (RCF) or Intermediate Care Facility for the Intellectually Disabled (ICF/ID) levels of care.”  For more information on Sunnycrest manor, please visit https://dubuquecounty.org/sunnycrest-manor 

My project is to install 86 feet of 24” wide flower beds around the outdoor patio, where the residents can enjoy an inviting environment with an added splash of color. The plants will be Karl Forester, Stella de Oro, Blue Emeralds, and Red Wings. The border will be 4”X 4” natural limestone edging supplied by Wagner Nursery.  At the entrance to the patio, an engraved rock will welcome all.  I want to complete this project by Memorial day 2018.  The pictures below are before followed by a conceptual image after the project.  The border will be 4" X 4" Limestone block not the brick type material on the conceptual image.

The estimated cost of this project is $2,079 for plants, mulch, fertilizer and limestone block from Wagner Nursery in Dubuque.  $600 for the engraved rock from Big River Engraving in Cascade, IA.  I will have to rent an edger to prepare the site.  I need to finish fundraising by the end of April 2018.  Please consider donating to my project, helping beautify the patio for the Sunnycrest Manor Residents, and make my Eagle dreams a reality.  I appreciate anything you contribute.
