The Big Run

From the 11th November to the 12th December I will be attempting to run 206 miles.

Back in May, a loved member of Battersea Ironsides tragically completed suicide. He was such a valued member of the club and loved by all and it was so devastating to see this happen. A tragedy like this just emphasised even further how lockdown can really take it's toll on people's mental health.I know that if I had a difficult week at work or uni or in my personal life, chucking on my boots, packing up my ones, playing a game and then having a few pints afterwards can really turn a terrible week around.

So from this I thought I would start a challenge which brings sport, physical exercise, mental health and 2 rugby clubs very close to my heart all together. The challenge will all be in aid of the wonderful organisation that is Looseheadz who aim to create a platform and community to help turn the tide mental health issues, particularly when it comes to getting people talking. All the money raised from this challenge will seek to help Looseheadz and #tacklethestigma.

Why 206 miles?

Well this is the distance from my hometown club (Battersea Ironsides) in South West London to my university club (Leodiensians) in North Leeds. It is going to be a tough challenge but I am confident that I can get through it and anybody is welcome to get involved if they wish.
