Welcome to the 2017 Summit High School Band Play-a-thon we appreciate all the support you are giving us!
As an entire band program we will be playing for 8 hours on October 20 in order to raise money for our band.

HOW CAN I SUPPORT THE SUMMIT BAND?
1. Donate an amount meaningful to you. Current needs surpass the available school budget. Your help allows us to: TRAVEL TO FESTIVALS, BRING IN SPECIALISTS, SUBSIDIZE PERFORMANCE ATTIRE AND SOLO/ENSEMBLE REGISTRATIONS, AND PURCHASE BADLY NEEDED INSTRUMENTS (LIKE TUBAS & BARITONES).
2. Instead of charging a user fee for band we are asking friends and family to support the program.
The students are participating because they love music AND hope you will support them too. Please consider giving the following:
$800 ($100 for every hourthey play)
$400 ($50 for every hour they play)
$240 ($20 for every hour they play)
$120 ($15 for every hour they play)
$80 ($10 for every hour they play)
$48 ($6 for every hour they play
OR, any amount you would like!
With the help of the families and our amazing director Mr. Dan Judd the band has been able to compete in the Oregon state 5A band competition for 11 years in a row, winning first place 6 times.
We now have 160 students participating in one or more of our four groups. This represents a 300% growth!!
Funding for the band is very limited. The band has been invited to perform at the Oregon All-State convention, a very prestigious invitation. Travel to this and other state chapionships require significant funds.
SHS has four main bands: Summit Winds, Concert Band, Jazz Band, and Stage Band. All band students participate in the athletic pep band, and a select group performs in marching band.
Summit "Friends of Music" is assisting with the project by receiving donations on GoFundMe. There is no overhead taken by FOM but there is a fee paid to GoFundMe for processing and overhead. Donations to FOM may be tax deductible. Your online donation receipt serves as your tax receipt.
