One person's trash is another's treasure!  At the Summit Free Market, you can give away household items you no longer need, and find sports equipment, toys, furniture, tools, and household goods to take away.  It’s all FREE.  Currently, Summit Free Market events take place on two consecutive Saturdays in both the spring and fall. A permanent structure will allow Summit residents to exchange reusable items year-round.  The Summit Conservancy is leading a community-wide fundraising effort to build a permanent structure to house the Summit Free Market. This student-run initiative helps keep more than 10 tons of reusable material from the waste stream annually and saves money for the city (and taxpayers!) in disposal fees. It has also has helped hundreds of community members furnish their homes and find needed items.
