The 2020 Summer/Fall Challenge

The Ellicottville Great Valley Recreational Trail Committee has taken on the challenge of building a trail connecting various locations in Ellicottville and Great Valley.  Last year, the committee was able to clear the first section of trail between the Town Center and Tim Horton’s on 219. Unfortunately, winter set in before we were able to do final grading and begin to construct the walkway.  Even worse, the winter did a lot of damage on the cleared section. There are washed out areas, general erosion and loss of topsoil.  Without immediate repair, much of the clearing and grading will have to be redone. Also, many stumps need to be pulled out before final grading and trail construction can resume. All this must be done before next winter and time is short!

We are now just out of the starting blocks!
