My name is Patrick Foreman, and I have been marching for 6 years, and have been playing tuba for 10. I marched Sousaphone throughout all 4 years of high school, played Bass Drum and Snare for two seasons each in Indoor Drumline, and marched Cadets2 for the 2017 season. I currently march at James Madison University, as a part of the Marching Royal Dukes. Marching has brought me so many friends and great experiences that I cannot imagine living without. Band is one of those things that not only betters you as a musician, but as a person as well.
That being said, I have been fortunate enough to have received a contract to march with the Cadets this summer! They are my dream group, and being able to be a part of them is amazing. Their legacy and ideals are what drove me to join. The Cadets are all about grit, a drive to be better, and is filled with some amazing human beings. Being able to travel across the country, seeing places I've never been, inspiring people as they once inspired me, seems like the kind of life changing event that I would remember and tell the tale forever.
Marching Drum Corps costs a bunch, and being a college student, it is hard to pay the cost all on my own. I have been working to pay for the cost of it, saving as much as I can, but some help would go a long way. I believe that the cost is justified, with all that I get out of it. The fees help pay for three meals a day, plus snacks, travel costs, housing costs, and a way to pay the instructors that are helping me to become better. Plus, from all the people that I've talked to that marched before me, this was one of their most helpful experiences for making them the person they are today.Any help towards this would be amazing, and much appreciated. Please help send me out on a summer that would change my life for the better!
