Sumandeep Kaur - Funeral & Family Support

Her name was Sumandeep Kaur, at age 21 passed away due to a severe lung infection on June 29, 2020. She came to Canada 2 years ago as a student and was in her final semester of studies. For the last 2 months she was in ICU, the infection was so severe that she had to go through a 15 hour major lung surgery. After all the best efforts by the doctors she could not be saved.

She was the oldest daughter in her family and was living in Montreal, Canada by herself. Her parents along with a younger brother and a sisters are back in India. She belongs to a middle class family who spent all of their savings on her oldest daughter to help her for better future. At such young age she was so independent and hardworking, that while studying she was helping her family financially with the small savings she was doing while working part-time.

Now that she is gone, her family is devastated both mentally and financially. We are doing our best to help her family in these hardest times to arrange for her funeral and help the family financially. We may not be able to send her body back to India due to Covid-19 situation, we can only hope to bring her family to Canada to perform her final rituals.
