My story (I'm not the only one....)
Throughout my life, from high school to growing up in early adulthood, I was very alone and felt deprived and had no one to share my personal experiences. I've been bullied, I've been teased, I've been lied to, I've experienced various types of broken relationships with my family, friends and in my professional network. I developed anxiety, I gained weight, I've been teased for my looks, judged by my looks, making me feel useless, lonely and irrelevant to society.
I personally went through alot of mental, physical and spiritual challenges and I felt alone in my journey.
However.....I found myself, rejuvinated and healed, by helping others make a change in their life, through open and honest sharings and real life personal experiences. I've helped both personal friends, as well as previous and current work colleagues. I vow to help anyone from all walks of life and assist them to try and turn their life around. To never be scared, to never quit, to never give up, to never be negative, to never complain and to start instilling a positive mindset. I never want to be in that position again and neither should anyone deserve that treatment, I'm committed to do whatever it takes to make a difference in the community. To apply hope, to believe and trust, to show love and respect along this journey...
Who is suitsorshirts and why.......
Suitsorshirts is a community group and support network, both online and via live networking events. Built solely and inspired by, people power. Shared by brave and motivated individuals, committed to see change in a society. It doesn't matter whether you wear a SUIT or a SHIRT, we all have a story to tell and can make someones live better.
The challenge...
In both our personal and business lives, we've come across so many people who stick to their own comfort zone, accepting a "middle-class mindset", accepting the average, and sticking to their own tunnel vision. Not realising they have the power and opportunity to step outside all that and help others; their neighbours, families, friends, colleagues and even strangers. Where has that sense of community gone?
I'm hoping by sharing our personal experiences, and the experiences others, we can break out of this self-obsessed complacency and learn from one another and support each other.
Here’s how...
We will be interviewing various people (starting with men) across Australia. Allowing these honest and brave individuals share their morning/day rituals. Share to the public, how they've tackled the biggest challenges in their lives, but also achieved their biggest successes. With all sorts of fun topics also, shoe collections, best spots for RnR on weekends, Free Live Events to go to, best KEBAB in town etc...
You're probably in a professional white collar business or blue collar or perhaps a stay home dad or even Uni Student, we aim to provide this platform (blog-vlog/website) to project your voice, your tips/advice, your message, in the hope to inspire and help other people who may be similiarly going through the same experience as you.
Whether it's a success to share or a challenge or an obstacle to learn from, through community support and real life experiences, we aim to unite people, and especially, empower the men of today, to do more, to not be average, but be GREAT.
From this, the vision for suitsorshirts, will open up a community group (online), to help each other; how to look after 1 or 2 kids as a single dad, how to support their partner after working 10-12 hours a day (whichever industry) and come home to take care of the kids, how to handle your child who is restless and cannot go to bed or eat etc, how to actually experience 'work-life balance'. Working as a Nurse, as a mechanic, as a farmer, as an engineer, as a bus driver, as a waiter, as a lawyer, as a plumber, as a truck driver, as an accountant....or maybe its as simple as needing advice to find my first suit or how to dress while travelling for business. Maybe its working under the sun in contruction for long hours and still manage to keep a smile on your face....
There is absolutely no limit to the experience we can all share... we all have challenges in our lives, obstacles we had to overcome, through it all, we found our way to break through this cycle, become non-complacent, achieving success and being comfortable in life is not all about money. In our opinion, its about helping others go through their challenges, helping them overcome, and building their self esteem, self worth, self value and overall, a positive outlook in life. This is true freedom and true success.

The funds raised will help build the strategy come to life via awareness, further marketing campaigns, merchandise, potential magazine, book and news awareness and broadcast. We aim to intially raise$5,000 as phase 1 of this project. This is an opportunity for us to grow as a community, give back to helping each other. It all starts with an idea and it continues with action and support.
