Suit Bots to FTC World Championship

Donation protected
We're Team 4628, Suit Bots, a FIRST Tech Challenge  team from Monrovia High School in Monrovia, California, and we are excited to announce that we've qualified for the FTC West Super Regional Championship in Spokane, Washington! We couldn't have done this without all of your support, and we need your help again to get to Supers.

First Tech Challenge is a competitive robotics program for high school and middle school students. Teams design, build and program a robot to address each season's game challenge while also spreading their love of all things STEM with their communities and learning how to better build their robot or run their team from professionals. This year's game is called Relic Recovery  and asks teams to program their robot to autonomously knock a particular color of jewel off a platform, arrange glyphs in a cryptobox -- our specialty -- and "rescue" two relics at the end of the game. Here's footage from one of our earlier matches to give you a taste of what the game is like:

This season, we've competed in four league events at Santa Fe Computer Science Magnet School, finishing with the highest ten-match total, at an Inter-League Tournament at MHS where we won the Connect award  for outreach to the engineering community and were the captain of the winning alliance, and at the Los Angeles  Championship where we were on a semi-finals alliance and once again won the Connect award. Our goal this season is to win Connect at the world championship this April in Houston, but we'll need to make it past supers before we can do that.

The funds we're raising are for travel to and from Spokane and lodging and meals while we're there.  Donations of any amount help. Tax-deductible robot sponsorships are available.  Please email us  at [email redacted] before you donate if you're interested in that.
