Suffolk Punch breeding & equine assisted thearapy

Here at Red Knight's Suffolks..... we are passionate about the "Suffolk Punch" horse breed....
.....which is currently on the critically endangered breed list.,

We FEEL so lucky and HAPPY to own 6 Suffolk Punch horses, which we have personally invested in with the vision of helping to raise the critically low numbers of this wonderful and beautiful endangered breed of horse !!

Our vision is to set up & open a Suffolk Punch horse, visiting, breeding & riding centre for the public to enjoy, sharing the love of our horses and offering Equine assisted therapy sessions to those who would benefit.

Our first Suffolk punch we purchased is called Knighstfeild Achilles Warrior, Aka Whyatt... Pictured below... Whyatt... was just 7 month old when we brought him from  Knighstfeild Stud at Carmarthenshire in January 2019.

Pictured below from the left is Whyatt  as a 7 month old baby out for a walk with his friends.

Our second Suffolk we found was a dream come true for my girls April & May and myself as we had chatted together about breeding with Whyatt, so  finding  8 year old Suffolk mare,  Cookworthy Katy Clipper, to us was like finding gold dust.

Below, Whyatt & Katy,  our future breeding pair of Suffolk Punch horses. Whyatt handled by my daughter April.

We then also felt very lucky again to find a 2 year old filly "Edgehill April Storm" to be part of our future breeding programme.  April pictured below. Not forgetting, April came with a one year old baby companion called Edgehill Bumble.

We have felt so committed to our equine family and dream vision of sharing the love and joy they bring to us, with freinds,  family and you the public, that 7 years ago we sold our family home to buy land and build up our own equine visiting & riding
centre called Penny Reds Ponies.....

Penny Reds freelance Pony rides and parties was launched in October  2012 and traded  to the summer of 2017.
We successfully operated our small family orientated horse riding business in the heart of Cornwall,  you can check out many of our 5 star review by clicking the link below.

I Sadly closed down our riding centre 3 years ago due to private family matters.

Whilst closed for business in the summer of 2018, we met a wonderful gentleman who invited us to his  shire horse and Suffolk farm to work with his horses. Above, one of Mr Gotts shires named Joe, ridden by April.

Working with Harry's horses on his farm at Redruth, Cornwall was where our passion for the Suffolk Punch breed was ignited within our hearts when we all fell in love with the great stallion there called "Geronimo".  Pictured BELOW.

ABOVE: Euston Geronimo is a uncle to our Suffolk Whyatt.

The future is BIG and our future is BRIGHT..... Now  with plans to reopen our gates,  Offering to the public a Suffolk Punch horse visiting, breeding, riding and equine assisted therapy centre... Sharing the love of our equine animals with everyone wishing to visit us!!

BELOW: Our two newest additions. 7 & 9 year old suffolk punch geldings Bazzoo & Zeus.

The gorgeous Bazoo boys came to us with the intention of been trained for giving rides to the public. they are doing a amazing job and we are super proud of them!!

What a fine and quite a rare  sight.... our 3 adult Suffolks out enjoying a hack around the cornish countryside.

Suffolk Social distancing.....  Above is our mare Katy Clipper and our newest two Suffolk's,  the Bazoo boys,  bred at Banham zoo, these two adult Suffolk punch geldings will be available at our centre for fun rides.

WHAT  WE NEED TO DO... We need to make an application to Cornwall council for  a inspection to be made on our premisies in order to gain our riding establishment licence. The Licence is needed to then gain full public liability insurance, in order for us to then operate commercially.

We really want to get up and running as soon as we can for two reasons. First to start covering overhead costs, feeding and general care for our 6 Suffolk's and 10 Penny Reds Ponies is a very costly bill. Secondly, so we can operate commercially inviting the public to a fully insured and licenced equine centre!

Red Knights Suffolk's is in the process of  registering as a CIC.... (community interest company) we intend on seeking out lottery or other similar funding to secure sessions to enable those in need to attend FOC.

HOW WE NEED YOUR HELP

We are aiming to raise funds to complete the necessary work in order to pass a inspection from council ensuring the priority care of our horses and ponies and also safety for public protection, as per the requirements made by the council.
