Help Sue Keast fight  Stage 4 Cancer

Sue Keast was like most young moms.  Married to husband, Scott, they have two small children, Tessa, 6, and Lucas 3.  Sue has a full time career, part time business and genuinely busy life.  Sue is most happy when she is spending time with her family at the local splash pool or toboganning down a local hill.  On July 18, 2017  Sue's world as she knew it all changed --- diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma Stage 4 she is now in the fight of her life!

Sue's infectious smile and easy going personality attracts all to her.  Her career in social work is a perfect fit for her because of her great empathy and compassion for others.

Sue has already undergone two separate surgeries - the first to remove two lymph nodes and a large tumor intertwined in the muscle in her neck.  The second has been to remove further tissue around the orginating site.  The tumor revealed the prescence of Stage 4 cancer.  The doctors have told Sue this is a very rare cancer for young women.  It is usually caused by the HPV virus.  This was very difficult to diagnose as Sue had 5 CT scans in the earlier months none of which revealed the prescence of this tumor.

Sue will soon start radiation treatments - 5 days a week for 7 weeks = 35 treatments followed by chemo treatments 3 times at week 1, week 4 and week 7.

Unlike other cancers this one originating in the throat sores will develop in Sue's mouth.  Eating will become very painful and swallowing even worse.  Some patients end up hospitalized and require a feeding tube.  The other side effects Sue might experience will be potential tooth decay, jaw pain, nausea, loss of appetite and her taste buds will definitely change.  Dry mouth, irritation and vocal changes could become lifelong issues for her.

Sue is a fighter, has the tenacity and will to overcome this.  With her family and friends by her side she will beat this horrible disease!

Sue wants to be just like you and I - she wants to see her
children grow up, graduate, get married and have children of their own.  She wants to retire with Scott and enjoy their family and friends together for many many years.   With our support and prayers these dreams can be realized for Sue.

With Sue's treatment and illness comes loads of extra expenses.  Although Sue does have some extended benefits from her employer they are very limited and her wage will be much smaller than she is used to.  Sue will have lots of extra expenses in the coming months while undergoing radiation and chemotherapy.  Extra funds will be needed for parking, meals, extra childcare, fuel, just to name a few.

Your financial support, any amount will be greatly appreciated, to help ease the burden of all the extra expenses Sue & Scott are going to incur.

Thank you so much for your thinking of Sue and her family.
