Cutthroat, a Journal of the Arts

Cutthroat, A Journal of the Arts is in its 18th year.  We are totally independent and rely on donations to continue to publish poets, short story writers and nonfiction writers, the unknown as well as the known. This is our fundraising season. We need these donations to continue to exist.  None of our editors are paid. We edit and publish this journal as an act of service to the literary community. Advertising, web services, designers, attending conferences like AWP to feature our writers, printing, mailing, etc. are expensive. Among those thousands we've published are such writers as Joy Harjo, Rita Dove, Pam Houston, Fenton Johnson, Robert Olen Butler, J. Drew Lanham, CMarie Fuhrman, Naomi Shihab Nye, Linda Hogan, Luis Alberto Urrea, Martin Espada, Cornelius Eady, Patricia Spears Jones, Rick Bass, Patricia Jabbeh Wesley, Emilia Phillips, Michael Wasson, Alice Anderson, Dan Vera, Clarence Major, Melissa Kwasny, Richard Jackson, Marilyn Kallet, Marvin Bell, Connie Post, and many more.  No donation is too small. We, like so many small presses, seek to keep fine literature alive in America, especially during this extended Pandemic. We are trying to raise $3-4K to fund print publication of Cutthroat 28.
