Sub Edge Farm Flood Disaster Relief
Hello,
I am Rodger Phillips and along with my co-farmer, Isabelle we are the farmers at Sub Edge Farm in Farmington and Avon, Conn.
This most recent storm hit our farm hard. Thompson Brook rose up and started running through the farm on one side and the Farmington River rose up on the other until they met in the middle. Besides losing a good number of turkeys the farm has lost all of our fall plantings of vegetables like kale and spinach as well as Brussels sprouts, carrots, radishes and much more. Our beautiful 10 acres of winter squash is currently seven feet underwater.
So much hard work and so much lost so quickly.
We have been so encouraged by our local community who has been writing and messaging asking how to help. We have set up this gofundme to help to cover the tens of thousands of dollars in losses we had and to make sure we can cover our expenses into the fall for labor and rent.
Thank you for your support of local farms!
