Facebook Live 06DEC2017 Campaign Purpose

The purpose of this charity's cause is to help people in Puerto Rico by donating solar lamps to ensure people have lights after the sun goes down. Even though it has been months after the Hurrricane, many people are still struggling and have no electricity.

Can you imagine yourself living in your home without lights? Most likely not, but try to think of the moment when you did not have lights due to a powerful storm that might have left your town or community stranded for few days. You cannot cook, foods go bad as fridge does not work and list goes on...Think of the people in the hospitals connected to the machines. Without power, life becomes true struggle.  You become very limited as to what you can do. Well, these people are even in the worst shape. Their homes and towns have been severely damaged, bridges collapsed, people stranded, mothers worried about their kids and so much more. Many of them are stranded in their close areas as roads to certain areas have not been fixed where debris is still covering roads that lead to towns.

This donation is going to help those people that have no electricity. The work will be coordianted by a co-worker Jose Rodiguez Sellas, whose family is in Puerto Rico from whom I have gotten stories about the struggles and day to day conditions. The project about solar lamps was created when he shared a story that he sent two lamps to his wife and brother, and how happy they were to have lights at night... That is when a light bulb went off (funny right, maybe I can say, solar lamp went off).

I suggested that we could create a flyer and get help here at our work place, Pfizer. And we did. We were able to send 2 additional lamps to strangers, people in need. I assumed, people would donate to our cause, but I also understand that some people cannot spare $45 dollars plus shipping cost. So that is when I have sent a question to Oprah Magazine Facebook live event on November 20th and her guest was Tony Robbins. A person that I admire a lot and go to for inspiration and motivational videos on YouTube. From all the questions there, they picked mine and he, Tony Robbins Challenged me to collect $10,000 at which point, his organization would match. That was amazing. It was the best day ever. You can watch the interview as there is a link attached. Oprah Magazine interviews Tony RobbinsMake sure you speed forward to 22 minute mark as that is when they ask my question.

All the funds will go toward purchase of solar lamps which will be distributed to the Colegio De Profesionales Del Trabajo Social de Puerto Rico (Emma Beniquez, Executive Director, PO Box 30382, San Juan, Puerto Rico 00929-0382 phone [phone redacted]. This organization was selected by Jose who knows this organization and trusts them fully. They do not accept money, so we will purchase lamps from manufacturer and see if they can ship directly or we might work with UPS to figure this out. Right now we are focusing on collecting money and while that is happening Jose & I will figure out rest.

The goal is to collect money by Christmas and I am hoping people will feel inspired to donate as Christmas Holiday season is really about helping others in need. All I am asking is that people donate as little as $1 or higher if they feel as if this story has touched their heart. It has touched mine and I feel responsible and have decided to help those in need this season. This Holiday Season for me, personally, is all about helping others.

FB Announcement about Solar Lamp Project Please watch this as it shows my excitement about this and I cannot wait to help those people.

I will add a future video with Jose and me explaining the project plans and share stories.

If you feel at all inspired, please donate to our cause so Tony Robbins can match our donation. Thank you from the bottom of my hear.

Live with purpose, passion and possibilities.
