Zion's Medical Fund

 

Hi family and friends, as most of you know, our beautiful 14 year old daughter  Zion has been battling health problems for quite some time.  Zion has been diagnosed with Gastroparesis.  Gastroparesis is a condition characterized by a slow or paralyzed stomach. A normal stomach takes about 3 hours to empty.  Zion’s stomach takes approximately 20 hours to empty.  Because of this, she lives with intense, constant, daily abdominal pain. On a scale of 1-10, her pain is usually at a 7. The pain worsens when she eats, so Zion has basically stopped eating.  This has caused a slew of other problems; Zion’s weight has dropped to under 100 pounds, she suffers from chronic fatigue syndrome.  Zion has been hospitalized twice and had two surgeries in the last six month but the pain still persists.

 This condition has negatively impacted every aspect of Zion’s life.   Last year at this time she was a normal teenager that enjoyed school, gymnastics, theater and hanging out with friends.  Currently, Zion is in Independent Study because she doesn’t have the energy to attend school.  Also, she has had to withdraw from all extracurricular activities.

In spite of this situation, we continue to press forward and believe that Zion’s health will be restored.   Zion has been referred to the Mayo clinic in Minnesota for further testing and treatment.  We need your help in raising $15,000 to send her!  No amount is too small because we have a BIG God who is ABLE to do IMMEASURABLY more than all we can ask or imagine!

          

 So here is what we are asking you to do: We're asking you to give, and to give boldly. We're asking you to step into the situation of a girl who has been battling a disease hard, and hasn't once given up. We're asking you to pray and support our beautiful Zion, but we're also asking you to give financially if you have the means for it. This treatment, and the life changing potential it has for Zion’s health and future will not be possible without your generous assistance… but together, we can make a difference for Zion.

The goal?  Raise $15,000 to get Zion to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota for treatment
