VADA testing for CWFC Women's title fight

Donation protected

The final of the CWFC women's 125 lbs tournament is to be held later this year, and I will be fighting Sheila Gaff from Germany. As this may be my last professional MMA fight, I wanted to use this opportunity to make a statement. I believe that the use of steroids, and other performance enhancing drugs in MMA is an important issue that needs to be addressed.

The Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) provide independent, random performance enhancing drug testing for MMA fighters from 8 weeks before a fight. http://www.vada-testing.org/. Agreement has been reached with all parties to implement this testing for the CWFC title fight.

The fight is provisionally scheduled for mid-October. The only remaining obstacle is that funding needs to be found for this to go ahead. This page is for anyone who would like to contribute to making this happen.

Dr Johnny Benjamin (http://www.drjohnnybenjamin.com/) has kindly offered his support and has pledged to provide half of the $6k needed. He has spoken out about the issue of performance enhancing drugs in the past.

If, for any reason, this fight or the planned testing cannot go ahead then the money raised through this page will be donated to VADA to help other fighters benefit from improved PED testing.
