Study Abroad in Spain 2018-2019

My name is Tessa Hassinger, I’m 19 years old and I have a GOFUNDME goal to raise $7,500 to augment my study abroad plan for Spain of 2018. I feel that I should start by saying that I am so grateful for all the help I have already received in my 19 years of life! My parents and family, teachers and school community, hometown friends and acquaintances of Leavenworth, Washington, and current University of Idaho professors and counselors all have played integral part of me becoming who I am and accomplishing what I have thus far.
Growing up I always had this dream and goal to study abroad in college and it's finally here! The program I have chosen is University Studies Abroad Consortium (USAC) and the location is Bilbao, Spain. The main fees I'm working to pay are tuition and program fees, a host family fee, and the cost of a plane ticket. My goal is to raise $7,500, match that in my own funds and take out student loans. Through USAC I'd be able to be immersed in the culture of and living in and attending school in an urban business town in Spain; having the option to take business classes in English while simultaneously taking Spanish Language classes.
One of my goals by studying abroad in Spain is to, by the end of the year, be fluent in Spanish. I am excited to use the combination of business and this second language to eventually use my Marketing-Entrepreneurship degree to open a business one day where I will host an environment of satisfaction and safety for my customers as well as my employees. I strongly believe that to own a business it is crucial to have the experience of interacting with people of other cultures and stepping far out of my comfort zone. To study abroad for a full academic year and in a country where English isn't the first language is one of the best ways to gain that experience. Connecting, communicating, and creating relationships with people is what I feel drawn to do to make the world a more loving place; and if possible, inspire others to do so as well.
I've planned out as much as I can at this part in the process dealing with classes, financial details, and the impacts of studying abroad; I'm saving money and working hard to maintain two jobs and a high GPA.
However, I'm at the point when I realize that to take the final step to make this happen I need your help! Again, with your help in this gofundme campaign I will match the $7,500 with my own earnings and loans to meet the nearly $30,000 price tag of this study abroad opportunity. Thoughts and prayer are always welcome as well!
